GPA to apply to UCs

Do you need a 3.0 to apply to UCs and what if you have below a 3.0 right now before fall but then GPA will go up above 3.0 will they still look at me? I know some people in the same boat but i just need some answers!

HELP!

2.0 or higher is the minimum

^
What? In state, you need a 3.0 UC GPA, OOS, you need a 3.4 UC GPA.

http://www.californiacolleges.edu/</a></p>

uhh no in state its a 2.0 MINIMUM! look at the website.

Oops! Sorry. Didn’t realize this was transfers,

oh and one more dumb question would my tag be void if my gpa is literally a 2.999? -___-

that’s a good question! Hopefully not since that would be pretty mean if 3.0 is the base number but suppose their has to be a cut off point somewhere. I never did TAG so don’t know if there is some appeal process in case some statistical anomaly like that happened.

I’m pretty sure that the GPA rounds off to 2 decimals, eg you’d have a 3.00. Did you do a TAG? What did it say?

I think UC Davis requires a 2.9 for TAG.

to be honest im not really sure if they round up or not so you might want to call in or something.

i did TAG but it didnt say anything about rounding…

I know a guy who got his TAG accepted with a 2.90. It might depend on where you TAGed…
Don’t quote me on this but I believe UC Merced only requires a 2.8, Davis is 2.8-3.1 depending on major, and Santa Barbara is 3.2. All the rest are 3.0 but I seriously doubt they’ll turn you down if you have a 2.99.

irvine is the only one thatll turn u down (however, i did read somewhere that they round to the thousandths. dont quote me tho.) davis, depending on the major. sb waits to get your fall grades, and so does ucsd. and merced and rside take everyone

im really shooting for UCSD im hoping they’ll take me with my 2.965 ish but its for sure to be upwards til then (spring 2011)

i will have all my IGETC done and the only pre req i wont finish is o-chem and physics series…

I am in the same boat as you raacheel, may be actually worser.I have 3.01 GPA at this moment and for sure will drop to a 2.92 GPA :(.The only thing that helps me is the IGETC.majoring in chemistry.about a third done with pre-reqs.completed TAG and just waiting upon this results. If I dont get TAG for UCSD, then Im hoping for UC Davis or UC Santa Cruz.

I dont know if ill get it anywhere right because before fall grades i have a 2.5 because of a D in a class that im retaking right now aaaand hopefully ill be getting a 3.0 by the end of fall
getting tests back this week and its nothing but upward trends in all class so im doing my best to get it
but yeah my backup was UC DAVIS but i heard u need a 2.9 right before bio major but i have a 2.5 so that sucks for me, but i think you can get davis @ ray7863

kool.what’s your major?i think it also depends on that.if it’s science then they lower the standards while majors more impacted need higher GPAs.

my major is biochemistry/ cell bio!
its impacted :(

UCSD will be very hard to get in by that major.also UCI(somehow they are becoming the new LA and Berkeley).I believe as long as you have IGETC you should be good.

P.S. I lost chances for sure for any UC since I drop.:(

you dropped what?

and yeah ill have IGETC done by fall 2010 its just a matter of grades D:
