Is a 3.8 uw too low for Harvard w/ high SAT scores. After Freshman year got sraight A’s??? Will harvard like that?? I’m very worried.

Yes, it is. Don't even apply; all applicants have perfect 4.0's.

i wouldnt say so! a 3.8 is a disadvantage against others but u can definitely make it up! Did u take hard classes? I myself have a 3.833, hopefully a 3.8 or so when i apply. But i am doing lots of ec's like i founded a club and I will be going on a trip to Nepal to help build a school there for children. Just do lots of unique kinds of activities. U can still get in. The ppl who have 4.0's dont necessarily have all kinds of good ec's, and a lot dont have amazing sat scores. U still got a chance, but u gotta make up for lost ground by strengthening ur ec's and trying to minimize ur weakness in gpa. Take hard classes too to make up for the gpa! Good luck!

I have great EC's established teen court in my school. I am pres of debate team and helped establish a program to teach kids safety procedures I didn't learn in school ex. cpr 'cause parents are in medical field. I also got a 1550 and an 800 and 770 onSatIIs.

I also took hardest classes. I skipped a year of classes, so I immediatly went to sophmore year classes

I just got pretty low grades freshman yr and got straight A's the rest of high chool

Straight A's in high school don't mean jack **** in college.

yes a 3.8 is fine. im not quite sure if harvard even looks at freshmen grades...

What is a 3.8 in your school (percentage wise?) My school only recently transfered to the 4.0 system so I'm kind of confused about it. For example, my GPA is a 3.9 and according to our system that comes out to around a 95, a 4.0 is a 96.. 3.8 is a 94. Is it like this in other schools too?

yes, they will look at it. They look at everything, and you have to be perfect. I think the fact that it was freshman year and every since you have gotten straight A's may not be too harmful to you, but it will undoubtedly hurt your chances. If you are really passionate about Harvard, you better have something huge to balance that GPA.

With a 3.8 and very high scores you won't in the top echelon academically. You might not even be in the second. But a strong EC score and personal score can make up for that.

i thought MIT does that, does harvard calculate Academic Index the same way??
