GPA trend question

So, overall, i've had an upward trend.. but lateley its been starting to drop and i'm afraid that with the tough classes i'm takign this year it wont be has high as it once was. here's my GPA's so far. It's an upward trend until i hit second semseter junior year.

(current period GPA's listen on my transcript)
9th:
1st semsester:2.9
2nd semseter: 2.67

10th
4.00
4.17

11th.
4.60
4.40

12th:
probably a 4.14 or 4.00 if i really try.

when my mid-year report comes out with that last GPA on it will that really hurt me? cuz that show's i'm all of a sudden slacking and going on a downward trend. or is this not significant enough to hurt my chances at any schools? Or is it not a significant enough drop?

to give you an idea, these are the classes i'm taking this year and the grades i'll probably get for the semester

Advanced Art - A
AP Government - A (most likely a B though... )
AP Stat - B
AP Physics - B (If i'm really lucky....)
Trig/Precalc - B
Spanish 4 (junior college, counts for one extra grade point)-B
English 1A (junior college)- A

Most selective schoosl i'm applying to:

Smith
Reed
UC Berkeley
UCLA

umm will the downward trend hurt me a lot?

I wouldn't think so because you probably didn't take as many Advanced or AP classes this year and colleges know that these are harder courses.

its smart to apply to UC's which knock off your freshman year.

I'm also applyign to other colleges thoguh.. how will this affect my other college chances? I'm going on a downward trend...

Smith and Reed are not very competitive so you shouldn\'t worry that much..

UC Berkeley and UCLA drop off ur freshie yr so u shouldnt worry either..

GPA WISE OF COURSE!!

and a few Bs is not a downward trend!!
it wont hurt..

Downward trend =

All As freshman, All Bs sophomore, all Ds junior..

urs is minor.. and unnoticable..
