GPA unweighted

How can I determine my gpa?I go to a school that uses % grades.My overall % grade is 86.87(fresh and soph year.I did really bad on the first one).How can i convert that to gpa?

Every high school does this a little different but it usually works like

95=4.0
90=3.5
85=3.0

So your UW GPA would be 3.187 according to that.

I've more commonly seen it done as:

93-100 = 4.0
90-93 = 3.7
87-89 = 3.3
83-86 = 3.0
80-82 = 2.7

So that would be either a 3.3 or a 3.0 (depending on whether it's rounded or not).

Actually, you can't really convert percentage to GPA that easily. If you use the scale the fhg has, and out of 8 classes, you get 100's in seven of them but a 84 in the last one, then your percentage average is a 98, but your GPA would end up being a 3.875.

True, I thought the OP meant overall % in one class, but I probably misunderstood.

Transcript thats what i meant.Plus when do I send college my gpa?Can i send them only my act/sat score and send gpa at the end of the senior year?Or I only can send them gpa at the end of my junior year?

Your GPA is on your transcript. You send your transcript when you apply, i.e., generally before Christmas of your senior year.

Colleges will recalculate your GPA by their standards in most cases, so don't worry about it too much.

So when its time to apply I simply will just give them copy of my transcript and the college will do all the calculations?

Bump..............
