Hi, Im a student attending IB school.

As some of you might know, Getting raw score of 75+% is equivalent to highest mark 7 in IB. But since our school is so used to British system, teachers never curves the raw score and just give the raw score on gradebook.

So on my gradebook, my averages would be around 78% which is really good and I think Im definitely in class 5%. (42/45 in IB)....

But if I bring that to US system, 78% average is 2.3 GPA...

and our school doesnt rank students or weigh grades.. so only thing college will see will be the transcript with full of 70s and my predicted scores..

Does this mean I should not even bother apply to US colleges? (I have 2150 SAT)..

It looks like you are an international student who will be applying from outside the US. Believe me, the international admissions officers to have their own ways of interpreting your school records. You will be evaluated in comparison to other international applicants - not in comparison to US applicants. Go to the main page here where all of the forums are listed, and scroll down to find the International Students Forum. Ask your questions there. If there is a sub-forum for your country post your questions there. You will get a lot of useful information in that forum (& sub-forum).

If you haven’t done so, you need to read through everything at [EducationUSA | Study Abroad, Student Visa, University Fairs, College Applications and Study in the U.S. / America](http://www.educationusa.state.gov) Then follow the links to find the advising center closest to where you live. The counselors there are the true experts on college admission in the US for students educated in your country. They will be able to tell you which institutions her have admitted students like you in recent years.

When you have done all that, you will be better able to evaluate whether or not you want to apply to any college or university here.

Wishing you all the best!
