GPA vs. Intellectual Curiosity

So I understand that GPA is extremely important (especially in your premed classes), however, I am also pursuing a minor in French studies simply because I enjoy the language.
It's not having a drastic impact on my overall GPA by any means; I have a 3.95 in premed classes, 3.93 or something close to that with my electives.
However, soon I'll be taking upper level French history classes (in french... kill me), and I don't want this to hurt my GPA.

Will med schools appreciate that I'm intellectually curious with a SLIGHTLY lower GPA, or should I forgo the French minor and just get a stellar science GPA?

French classes won't affect the science GPA. Any given science class is much more important than any given non-science class, since your BCPM GPA and your Overall GPA (including science classes) are probably about equally important.

If you're at a 3.95 now, I don't think I'd worry too much about protecting the grades. Pursue what you're interested in.

Although, I will say this: it doesn't sound like you're actually all that interested.

haha touche.

i'm not a history fan. unfortunately, i have to take a history class to fulfill distributional reqs, and this particular history class would doublecount as part of my minor. i love french, i enjoy reading french lit, but i've never had a head for history :(
