GPA vs. Rigor

I know on the NYU website it says that NYU prefers students with a rigorous courseload along with a strong GPA, but we all know that's not always the case. Which one does NYU, more specifically Stern, value more?

I come from a competitive public high school, and by the end of my senior year I would have taken 9 AP Courses (5 by junior year) and the max amount of Honors, but I expect my unweighted GPA by the end of junior year to only be around like a 3.74ish and a weighted of like 4.1. However, I could've probably only taken 3-4 APs by the end of my junior year and have gotten a much higher GPA like 3.9/4.25. Which one would Stern prefer?

Also, which honors courses does NYU weight? and the GPA should include freshman year right?

dude, you're fine. I got in ED with a 3.71 UW GPA and a 1490 SAT. Yes, the GPA should include freshman year. I'm pretty sure NYU mainly looks at the unweighted GPA as high schools weight their classes differently.

I got in RD with a 3.62 UW, with not nearly as many AP's as you. So, I wouldn't worry. Though that's CAS, not Stern.

i hope 'bay-area' is in reference to 415/510/650 etc btw :)

I got into Stern btw

925 :P
I'll be applying ED to Stern. The past few months have been extremely stressful so I'm hoping it'll pay off
