I saw in Common Data Set that Lehigh U does not consider GPA and class rank as highly important admission decision factor, while course rigor and SAT are listed as "very important".

Is this true? If so, this is a top ranked school my son can aim for.

He has good GPA (2040/2300, 1340/1600. already at 75% level of their freshmen class, and will take another SAT in Oct for better scores, which i think he will get). His weakness is GPA (3.85 or 3.95/4.5, weighted), comparatively speaking. Course rigor is good: honors and APs. Competitive suburban high school in NJ.

Because of his GPA weakness, we were not considering top 50 schools. Maybe this is one school within top 50 that he has a shot at, if they are less hung up on GPA.

I would agree with this statement, at least as far as my son is concerned, who was admitted as an Eckardt Scholar. SATs 2270, always took the hardest course of study all four years, strong community service, GPA 3.8 UW 4.26 W. Top 10% of highly competitive high school. I do think they also really look for leadership and community involvement.

I’m pretty sure that Lehigh values GPA and extracurriculars over SAT scores, although obviously you have to be competitive on that front as well.
