GPA vs SATS etc for ivies

<p>hey im a little bummed out</p>

<p>i was gone for the last few weeks of teh schoolyear and my teachers were ruthless.. overall i've ended up with 3 B's/B+'s over my freshman, soph and junior year (B+ in pre calc as a soph; B in ap calc and B in ap lang as a junior)</p>

<p>am i basically shot for ivies. i dunno how this will factor into my gpa...</p>

<p>or is a 2300 SAT enough to save a person?</p>

<p>my ECs are decent-ish..... but my grades are just kinda bumming me out. i feel like colleges will see the two Bs in math as a weakness in my math ability SIGH</p>

<p>why ivies? Maybe search for schools that will fit you, not schools that you will have to fit into a school.</p>

<p>...you got a 2300. Therefore you must have gotten at least 700 in math. Erego, they won't be too upset, k? Seriously.... don't worry...</p>

<p>You shouldn't lump all the Ivies together. I'm going to pretend like you're just asking about selective schools in general.
What's your GPA now? If it's below 3.7, then it will definitely hurt your chances. A good SAT score can't cancel that out. But I doubt it is, so I wouldn't worry about it.</p>

<p>The only thing that will save you now is a hook.</p>

<p>Don't stress out about it. If you've only gotten 3 B's over the course of high school, you have nothing to worry about. Focus on the essays and getting good recs.</p>
