Can I get into Vandy with 3.58 GPA, even though I'm asian?
I know there is a lot more, but im asking generally?

Of course. A holistic admissions process means that no single factor will make or break your application. From the Vandy website:

Vanderbilt uses a holistic admissions process in which all parts of a student’s application are considered.

But you already knew that, right?

Yes
But what is the average?

I was accepted with a 3.43 weighted GPA, and I’m Asian!

Don’t look at the average… Look at what makes you stand out.
you can get in with that, just better hope that some part of your application stands out more than your gpa.

Well I am a intel+siemens semifinalist
And I won several awards at isef.
And I qualified for USABO.

Is that defining enough for a science kid that stand out?

being an intel/siemens finalist is a big deal, a semifinalist not so much. qualifying for usabo doesn’t say much either, unless you’re saying you qualified for the usabo study camp. 3.58 on its own is pretty low, but it can be mitigated if, for example, your high school rank is in the top 5% or you have a strong upward trend.

it’s fair for colleges to see a low high school gpa and ask, “if that was the best he/she could do in high school, how could we expect this person to excel at vanderbilt?”
