Gpa

how do colleges calculate unweighted gpas, wats the formula?

?????????????

I believe most do it the same way your high schools does. Some (such as the university of michigan) don't factor in your grades in non-academic classes.

oh...when they calculate it do they give a 3 to a B regardless of it being a B+ or B-?

???????????

A+=4.3
A=4.0
A-=3.7
B+=3.3
B=3.0
B-=2.7
C+=2.3
C=2.0
C-=1.7
D+=1.3
D=1.0
D-=0.7
F=0

I'm not actually sure if D-'s are given.. haha

depends on your school. My school grades A=4, B=3, etc regardless of + or -.

And protege, I haven't heard of any school that gives more than 4.0 for an A+. It's impossible to get more than 4.0 unweighted

Most schools do this:

A = 4.0
B = 3.0
C = 2.0
D = 1.0
F = 0.0

So for example, if you have five classes, and you got A, A, B, C, A, you would do 4.0 + 4.0 + 3.0 + 2.0 + 4.0 which is 17.0 and then divide by 5 and you get 3.4.
