Hi! Im currently a 9th grader worrying about my GPA. I took Algebra 1 and Spanish 1 last year. I got an A in Spanish and a B in Algebra, which are both high school courses. When I log into my account to see my current grades, there is a GPA tab to click on. It says I have a 3.58. Is this from my 8th grade courses? Will this be on my high school transcript? Is there anything I can do about fixing it? P.S. Semester 1 hasnt ended yet. (as of 11/21/17)
Thanks!
Unless you took those courses directly through the high school (which I’m pretty sure you didn’t because they are normal middle school classes) then they don’t count towards your GPA. You can calculate your GPA usuing an online calculator to double check if you agree with the school system but that GPA is definitely only from your high school year so far. Work on bringing it up for the next quarter/semester but don’t fret too much as you have a decent GPA and freshman year won’t make or break you as long as you try your best and continuously progress through high school. Best wishes!
Is this my official high school GPA? Can I bring it up to a 4.0?
This kind of thing may vary by school. You’re best off asking your guidance counselor about this.
