So I have all A’s and just got a D in a math class so my GPA is now a 3.81. I have taken honors classes for 3 consecutive semesters but I have just one more semester at my community college to go before I transfer so I’m worried. Will this affect my chances of transferring to the schools I’m aiming for, ;Columbia, Cornell, NYU, Baruch and Binghamton?
Overall GPA is good but yes, a D could affect your chances, especially at top schools like Columbia and Cornell.
It will definitely affect your chances.Is the course required for your major? If so, then you should think about retaking the course. No shame in staying a bit longer in CC, especially if you’re attempting to transfer to Columbia, Cornell, etc.
I would retake that class no matter what you do. Your gpa is fine, but as others have said the D is not fine. Stay longer.
