For grad school applications, do you have to submit everything at once? I'm just wondering because I'm planning to take the GRE in October, and it says scores will be released in early Dec. while the application deadline is also in December (for example UCLA is 12/15). Can I submit an application and have the scores mailed to them ASAP after they're released? Or can I only submit an application after I have the scores?

First, you get four schools to designate for free reports when you take the test. They will get the score reports as soon as they are available. Afterward, you can designate more schools for a fee. Next, you don’t have to coordinate the timing of GRE scores, LORs, and application since each university has a graduate office that compiles everything before sending to the program. You can have your GRE scores sent months before your application, as long as the time doesn’t exceed an application cycle. You can send your application before the GRE scores are sent. And LORs . . . well, they arrive at the writers’ leisure – with good luck before the deadline. As long as you get your part in on time, you should have no problem.
