I have decided to attend Binghamton next fall as a Physics and Mathematics major because I plan on attending graduate school at a top university, and breaking the bank on my undergraduate studies does not seem necessary. My question is: will I be disadvantaged in getting into a top 10 physics grad school by going to Binghamton? If I work hard enough, will I have the same opportunities as anyone else? Thank you

What?
Will you be disadvantaged? Yes. Can you still work hard and get in? Yes. This is not to say that you can’t get into a top 10 school coming from Bing (I’m sure kids have) only that you have to distinguish yourself. This can be harder to do at a school like Bing as compared to a school like Princeton or Berkeley. This combined with the fact that many programs might only have 10 slots definitely puts you at a disadvantage when it come to grad school.
