grad school with weak Gpa

I'm new to this site. anyone here familiar with the california state university system?
I graduated from CSUN with a b.a. in psychology. Recently applied to cal state los angeles for the Forensic Psychology masters program. I am very anxious as to whether or not I will be accepted. my undergrad gpa was a 2.85 - not very good. I definitely slacked off in my first couple of semesters but my final 3 semesters I improved alot and I hope that the school will take this into account when they read my transcript. I took the GRE and scored a 1240 for the general test. This is a pretty good score but not spectacular or anything. So my resume is not very strong. I was able to get 3 letters of rec from my professors. I have no experience whatsoever as far as a job or internship as of right now. Does anyone have any sort of advice about any of this? The one program I applied to is fairly selective - I understand that there are approx 4 or 5 spaces open every semester with approx 45 - 50 applicants. I'm serious about wanting to attend grad school but there is a good chance my grades are too low.
