I've been told a P on a HS transcript is 'bad' because some colleges look at it as a D, and therefore they do not give credit. Is this true?

I want to switch a C I received in a class to a P, but many tell I am making a bad decision by doing this.

What do you guys think?

pass, as in taking a class pass/fail rather than for a grade

There was a thread on this before and I think the majority said that a C is better than a P

I don't think that's true, because for our school classes like guidance of give out Pass or Fail.

it depends on the class, but i think a c would be better, especially if a passing grade is a d

It depends. What subject is it? (that is really what matters)

well, some classes only give P/F. but when you have a choice, esp for a core class, a P would probably look bad since you won't choose to take it if you had an A or B in the class.

its for pre-ap chemistry

ugh.. help me out guys.... i need to decide by Tuesday whether I should take the C or a P.

I'd go for the C. I think a P would raise more eyebrows.

I'd go for the C to because the P is more questionable.

lol, right Majay. Go for the C.

how would a P get factored into your gpa?

A P wouldn't factor in at all in the GPA....

Has no effect at all... unlike a C that drops it by quite a bit...
