I’m considering it but it requires a lot of time, well past the 1/31 date. Which means I would be telling all the UCs that I’m appealing a class. Would this make me seem less desirable? I feel I have solid ground, but Idk if it’s worth the trouble and time. Your thoughts?
I would not tell admissions committees that you “might” be getting a different grade.
If you really have grounds for a grade appeal (i.e., that your professor failed to follow the grading policies described in his or her syllabus) then perhaps the grade will be changed right away. If your case is obvious, then your grade might be changed at the first stage of the appeal (where you meet with the professor and explain why you think the grade was not calculated correctly.) Even the second stage (probably involving meeting with department head or undergrad advisor) could happen quickly if you have definite grounds for an appeal.
Will it go on my academic file? Like, if I don’t disclose it and I make an official appeal is that info available for schools I applied to as a transfer/when I apply for MBA
In the UC application you have to put whatever grade you got. If your appeal is successful then you can email the UCs and inform them of the grade change. If you get rejected them you could always use that information of a new grade in the appeal.
To appeal a grade you would generally email the professor. If the professor declines then next step is emailing the faculty department head. If that still fails then you would need to do a formal complaint with the distract. No school is going to care if you appealed a grade.
BTW i successfully appealed a calc quiz grade. Make sure you got legit professional reasons in your appeal.
