grade deflation or inflation?

Is NU notorious for either grade deflation or inflation? In other words, is it hard to earn A's and B's?

oh, and does NU rank it's students?

You can definitely earn A's. As far as I have seen, except for the sciences where it's ultra hard, everywhere else it is possible to get an A.

NU does not rank.

haha there's definitely grade deflation I feel like. It's really hard to get an A but equally a C; it's easy to get a B.

Few years ago, a report showed that there's pretty good grade inflation in the school of education, music, communication, and journalism. The engineering has the lowest average GPA.

I live in CCI, and there are 4 engineers in my hallway who have 4.0s!

kimfuge, do you know what their majors are? and are they geniuses?

when i stayed overnight on the campus, i heard that there were two BME's in HPME who had 4.0s. So it's not impossible?

Not at all. My good friend (HPME/BME) was getting all A's until he got B+ for organic chemistry 2 quarters in a row (don't know how he did on his third quater). His mom was kinda upset for the whole summer because of that! One of the nicest guys you'd ever encountered, he didn't fight with her. He's pretty smart though; in the first quarter at the med school, he got the 2nd highest score in one of his finals.

Blehhhh.

How is the College of Arts of Science in terms of grade inflation/deflation?
