Grade Deflation

I know we've all heard about Princeton's "scary" grade deflation policy... but I just wanted to know- how bad is it, really?
I've been doing some research the past couple of days... Princeton apparently has the lowest average GPA of all the Ivies- does it matter that much in regards to getting jobs/getting into graduate schools?
People say that it only really affects humanities majors because science courses were always a little "curved"- is that true?
I've seen so many articles in the Daily Princetonian that portray the policy in a negative light... it seems that students really hate it. So why on earth does Princeton still have this policy??

Sorry if all these questions are confusing... I'm just a little worked up about it.

Thanks

Depends on the class, professor and your effort. My DS is a freshman. As of now he has two “A’s” and two “B’s”. I think that’s pretty good for any college freshman. He has two STEM classes and one language and one freshman seminar. He does study a lot. Getting one STEM A and one B; same for the other two classes.
