I applied to most of UC campuses as a computer science major as a transfer student.

I am going to CCC that runs quarter system, and I get Winter grades in beginning of April and Spring grades in June.

I am very certain that one of the math classes I am taking this quarter (Winter) will end up a grade of F.

How is this affecting my admission chances to UC transfer (all of my application is still pending), and should I retake the failing class in the Spring to make up?

The problematic math class is one of the core major requirements, and this class is the prerequisite class for the remaining other two math classes I am enrolled for Spring (both of which are also core major requirements).

I’m in a similar situation as you right now. I’m probably receiving a D (or an F) in one of my classes from Winter 2013. However, the class isn’t a major prereq for me. I took it out of my own interest, but I missed the final (family emergency) which killed my grade.

I called UC Davis about this issue and they said that as long as I retake the class this Spring and pass it with a C or higher (preferably a high B or an A), then they won’t rescind me. Unfortunately for you, your class is a Math class and it’s a major prereq. I suggest you sign up for the class again next quarter asap and notify all the UCs you applied to. I’m pretty sure Davis will let you slide (as long as you pass it in Spring), but I can’t say about the other campus’ policies. Good luck!

If you do not tag, you are ****ed (unless for UCR, or UCM). Happened to my sis, they did NOT like it.

Did you sis retake her failed course in the Spring (and pass it)? If not, that would explain why they didn’t like it.

I called Davis and talked to the Admissions Director and she told me that I’ll be fine as long as I retake and pass the class in Spring. Of course, if you fail a class in Spring, then you’re ****ed cuz you don’t have another quarter (before they check your transcripts) in which to make up the class.

Also, even if you’re TAG, your TAG will be voided and you’ll be in the same situation as a non-TAG applicant who failed a class.
