So I took my first AP class my freshman year and I didn’t so well. I talked with my GC and she said I could re-take the class online to get that grade factored out my GPA. This is very helpful because my GPA will skyrocket to a 4.5-6 before I hit my junior year. So by doing this, will it hurt my admission chances at the top universities?
P.S. The original grade I received stays in my transcript, is there any way I could get that off?
Grade replacement policies vary by high school. You will want to start with the handbook for your high school to make sure that you are choosing an approved online provider. Go back to the GC and ask about how the new grade calculation will be done.
I live in FL and I am taking an approved course through FLVS. The grade will be taken out and my GPA will show as if I have gotten whatever grade I got though the online course.

Yes in fact. You can sneak into your counselors office / teachers and change the grade yourself! /s
@AverryReyna: You are locked into the transcript policy dictated by your HS since they will be sending the official transcripts to any school you decide to attend. Some colleges will allow to enter in the highest grade received for the course(s) and some will ask you to report both the original and repeat grade. If you passed after repeating the course, this should not be held against you. People make mistakes and we are only human.
