Grade Inflation at Penn

Does Penn (specifically Wharton or SEAS) have a lot of grade inflation? I know it's an ivy, but how hard is it to maintain a 3.6+ GPA in these two colleges? Is it on the level of Harvard, or really tough, like Cornell?

it really depends on the department. SEAS, Wharton, and the math/science departments in the college are certainly not inflated (and at least in the case of the science departments I think are deflated relative to some other ivies - ex: the chem and physics departments here set their averages to a B-, at Harvard or Yale it's a B+). Grade inflation is a pretty major issue in the humanities and social sciences though, but still less so than a place like Harvard.

Certainly not at SEAS.

No inflation at Wharton.

I wish there was grade inflation... =(

the average gpa in the college is ~3.4 and that is usually considered the most inflated school, but i suspect that the science and math (excluding psych) departments help to keep things in check...

awhile back they quoted average engineering gpa as a 2.8
