I have been admitted to NYU GSP and I am only worried about not maintaining a competitive GPA (not about making it to CAS; I'm confident that I can do that). Is it out of the ordinary for a GSP student to get a GPA of 3.3 and receive nothing below a 3.0 or a "B" in ANY course? WOuld you say there is grade inflation or deflation?

Thanks!

There is no grade inflation and deflation at NYU, except for NYU Stern where there is grade deflation based on standard deviation system.

All US college grades are graded on standardized 4-point system, although some schools have their own specific grading systems, such as having all pass/fail freshman year, etc..

I heard that GSP was much easy. Maybe, if you're bad at a subject, it might below a B, but from what I'm heard about GSP, it's not too difficult. If anything, a breeze compared to normal NYU.

binghamptonrocks, I figured out where YOU're transferring in one year. I'll keep it a secret for you. ;D

haha binghamtonrocks I am planning to do the same thing as you after a year...the only difference is, you have GT and I don't, which is unfortunate...b/c transfer acceptance rates are so low.
If I were you, I would go to bing, not nyu, b/c you will save yourself a lot of money, it's a good school, and the classes transfer over easily...plus you can get used to upstate ny weather if you're not already.

Not too many schools with GT...

There's actually a pretty good chance that I remain at NYU (you can't beat NYC), but I just want to keep the option open, so: is it hard to maintain the grades I specified above? Would it be out of the oridinary.

And molly, I would go to bing, but I've decided that I would rather spend 4 years at NYU than spend another year in binghamton (nevermind my username).

haha ok...because your username says otherwise. I visited binghamton and honestly didn't like the atmosphere of the town. I remember as soon as I left the campus, I entered a road with more fast food places than I have ever seen in my life...there were arby's and red lobster and all these other places I've only ever seen on tv. It didn't look like there was anything fun to do off-campus.

yeah it's good to keep the gt option open. But I wish I were in your place so badly...I wish I had GT to cornell CAS. Instead, if I choose to apply as a transfer, their acceptance rate is like 13%, it sucks.
