Is the math major difficult at Tufts? Is it hard to maintain a high GPA? How is the grading policy at Tufts? Do they have grade inflation?

^interested in this topic as well. Curious to hear what people have to say

There are some wonderful math profs.
I suspect it’s a challenging major at any good school.
I recall hearing that there is no curving grades in many math courses. You might want to ask further about this.

Are you going to college to get educated/learn or to get As? Try going for learning! Rigor is your friend!

I double majored in math and found the intro classes (calculus, diff eq, linear algebra) that lots of students had to take weren’t exceptionally difficult and had a lot of friends who got A’s or A+'s in them. Probability and Statistics (both calculus based) weren’t too hard, either, but it may depend on the professor. It may seem as though there’s grade inflation because the homeworks are graded leniently and the exams aren’t that hard.

The more theoretical math classes are generally much, much harder. I don’t remember what I got in Real Analysis, Abstract Algebra, etc, but I don’t think there was notable grade inflation.
