Grade Inflation of Deflation

Hi, I was wondering if teachers at Tulane tend to inflate or deflate grades? Is it much more difficult to get an 'A' at Tulane than other prestigious schools that may inflate grades?

Tulane is quite secretive in this respect… is 3.2 a realistic average GPA for Green Waves? Although the source of that 3.2 is neither the most reliable nor the most recent, I could see how Tulane could avoid the grade inflation spotlight…

My impression is that while average GPA at Tulane has crept up some, it is guilty of neither grade inflation nor grade deflation. The average Tulane student is more accomplished coming in compared to, say, 20 years ago so perhaps some creeping up of the average GPA isn’t surprising.

But in the end, the answer is " who knows". I suppose the administration does, but they are not telling.

Personally, to be successful in College and life in general, I believe in Time Management and working hard (90%) and pure luck /God’s help (10%). Everything in life has rhythms and that is you get up at certain hours in the morning, go to school or lab or cafeteria, eat lunch, dinner, and go to sleep in the evening, etc. All of these should be managed and it is called time management and once in a while, you get side tracks or get lucky. But those lucks are 10% to help you be successful. I have been telling my Son since HS to prepare his materials before class aka read the chapters ahead of the class, etc. Then do the home-work, assignments, etc. Then by mid-terms or finals, he does not have to do overnighters/hard labor, etc. So, basically, he has been doing time management to manage his activities and so far he has been good. He has had a very good GPA doing engineering. Bottom line is if you know how to master the Time Management and work hard, you will not worry about the inflation of deflation of your grade, gpa, etc. Life is good and be blessed.
