Grade Inflation.

Hello all.
I heard a theory from a Yale grad '72 about grade inflation. He said that back then grades simply didn't matter as much, unlike now, he says, one would not need a stellar GPA to get a great job. A 3.1 did not put a students financial future in question, nowadays it very well might, espically with the high average debt. He thinks students work harder, not in general, but there are more super dedicated kids and less kids "phoning it in."

GPA for jobs doesn’t generally matter. Very, very, VERY few employers are going to care about your GPA or even look at it.

Fwiw, my good friend who graduated from a directional state U with about a 3.1 GPA is now a campaign manager for a US Representative candidate. Just graduated in May. More about what you do and what connections you make than about your GPA.
