Grade my essay, Please

<p>My first attempt at writing an SAT essay. Would like to hear some comments, thanks.</p>

<p>Prompt: Do people only acheive greatness by finding out what they are especially good at and developing that attribute above all else:</p>

<p>Essay:
Contrary to common belief, success is not limited to those who dedicate themselves to a particular practice or discipline. Throughout history, there are famous figures whose knowledge spanned a variety of topics. Even today many people are successful in not only their occupation but in their hobbies as well. One does not need to focus on on attribute or skill to become successful.</p>

<p>A perfect example of a widely revered polymath is Benjamin Franklin. He is known as being a pioneer in the fields of science, invention and politics. As a politician and public figure, Franklin is known to be one of the "Founding Fathers" of the United States. He was a skilled diplomat and influential person at the time. However, the reputation of Franklin also extends to science, where he is known for his "kite experiment" with lightning. Ben Franklin is also the inventor of bifocal lenses and the Franklin stove.</p>

<p>A more recent example is Sir Richard Branson, billionaire entrepreneur of the Virgin Group. His ventures span a variety of businesses, from music to space travel. Branson manages each company personally and is skilled in managing the diverse group of companies. Despite this mix of areas, Branson is sucessful in business and is one of the richest men in the world.</p>

<p>Dedication to a particlar practice is not essential to becoming great or successful. It is possible to be well-rounded and catholic in knowledge, as many famous figure as well as everyday people have shown.</p>
