Do people accomplish more when they are allowed to things their own way? (something along those lines--> it's a BB essay...also please pardon any spelling issues that I may have. I promise that they were not like that on my handwritten essay, I typed this up really quickly)

Although most people crave freedom and independence, freedom always comes at a price when granted freedom and self-choice, most people abuse their liberty and accomplish nothing. It is only when people are forced to do something that they truly accomplish great things. The famous modem pianist Lang Lang would not have become the world- renowned artist he is without his dad to make him practice. Similarly, George Washington would not have become the war hero of the American Revolution, if he did not have Americas future lying on his shoulders compelling him to take action. The experiences of Lang Lang and George Washington shed light on the importance of listening to others in order to achieve more.

While Lang Lang is now a hardworking pianist, he was not always this diligent like other children, When Lang Lang was little, he did not like to practice the piano despite his great passion for the piano. If Lang Lang did things in his way, he probably would not have practiced very hard and consequently not gain the accolade he has today. Though Lang Lang childhood, his father forced him to practice the piano. Once his father even took out a bottle of sleeping pills and told his son that if he didnt want to practice. Then he and Lang Lang would each take turns taking sleeping pills until one of them died. Although Lang Lang fathers method seems extremes it helped motivate Lang Lang to greatness and helped Lang Lang discover his true potential.

In addition to how Lang Lang achieved more by listening to his dad, George Washington also accomplished more when had the weight of the American people on him. Previously during the French and Indian war, Washington was notoriously known in the British army for being a commander who surrendered without a fight, during the American Revolution, Washington corrected British views of him when he continuously pushed on against British soldiers, His actions were in a large part caused by his understanding that American needed a victory to boost morale and convince the French to help them. This burden of understanding caused him to forsake his concerns and doubts and ultimately gain a big victory in Trenton.

Both George Washington and Lang Lang accomplished more when they had pressure from others and did not pursue things their way, By listening to others, they were able to use their abilities to their fullest.
