<p>For many people, the traditional path to success involves graduating from high school and college before working their way up in a particular profession. However, many of society’s most successful individuals taught themselves the skills they needed to start their own businesses, invent new technologies, or create works of art. For these individuals, the nontraditional path turned out to be the path to success.</p>
<p>Assignment: Are people who do not follow society’s traditional paths to advancement more likely to be successful than those who do? Plan and write an essay in which you develop your point of view on this issue. Support your position with reasoning and examples taken from your reading, studies, experience, or observations.</p>
<p>Even though those who follow society's path can become successful; I believe living life your own way can me beneficial. I believe living life your own way, will give you the encouragement to achieve success to prove the critics wrong. There have been countless stories of successful individuals who have not taken the "easy road". This list includes accomplished individuals, such as Steve Jobs. </p>
<p>Steve Jobs is a prime example of someone who didn't live life in the traditional aspect. For one, Steve Jobs didn't even graduate college. Jobs did however manage to attend some computer programming classes. But even though Jobs didn't have much experience, he was able to use the knowledge he did have to create one of the most innovative technology companies in the history of mankind. These details from Job's life unequivocally convey an individual who didn't live by society's life. </p>
<p>My father is another example of someone who is successful and has not always lived by society's rule. My father is a successful small business owner, even though his highest educational level is a high school diploma. Many things have been attributed to my father's successful. For example, his desire to work-hard and do anything to accomplish a task at hand has an great impact on his successful. He knew that he would have to work hard in the beginning of his life to accomplish what he wanted in life. This undoubtedly proves that someone who did things his own way can accomplish what some who did.</p>
<p>In conclusion, I stand with my belief that people who don't the traditional path to success will be more successful than those who do. This can proven by the life of Steve Jobs and the life of my father. These two men didn't do what society
wanted them to do, but with they drive to work hard they were able to live successful and accomplished lives. </p>
<p>This is my first ever SAT practice essay, and I know it's not the best! </p>
