grade trends?

<p>i'm currently a junior in high school with a cumulative uw 3.6 gpa. i aspire to attend boston college or georgetown, my two top choices. </p>

<p>i got a 3.5 cumulative my first two years... and then I worked extra hard at it and got a 4.0 with 4 APs last semester, after only taking 1 AP over the first two years. how much will this help me? i really really regret slacking off my first two years....</p>

<p>and yeah, i understand to get into prestigous schools you need more than a good gpa but as I understand it gpa's still a pretty big factor.</p>

<p>An upward trend is definitely better than a downward trend, but a straight across 4.0 trend is the best. Your essays, SATs, and ECs are also important so you definitely shouldn’t count yourself out automatically.</p>
