Grades after acceptance

Last month I got accepted into one of my top schools and already senioritis is beginning to show in my grades. Im not failing but instead of getting mostly As and Bs, Im getting Bs and Cs. Im really not worried at all but my parents are freaking out. So, will colleges really change your acceptance decision if your grades slip a little bit.

it REALLY depends on the college.

My top school that I'm likely to get accepted to is known to retract admissions second semester senior year if the grades slip enough, I think its partly because they accepted way too many kids.

Most likely, if you at least maintain a 3.0 it won't really change anything. If I were you, I'd call the school (anonymously) and ask them their policy regarding senior year grades.

Keep your grades up. I know it sucks and seems impossible, but try to keep out of the C range. Some schools will ask you to explain grades lower than a B if that's out of character. This year is 25% of high school...it's important! At least don't flop till second semester, when grades are already in to colleges (even then, try to stay out of the C range).

Bs and Cs after acceptance probably won't get an acceptance revoked or anything, as long as you stay away from Ds an keep up at least a 3.0. Of course, it will look much worse if you got into Yale with a 4.0 and suddenly dropped to B/C range than if you got into a state school with a 3.5 and dropped into B/C range.
