hi, im a rising senior, and i currently attend a pretty good public school in CA (top 60 in USNews ranking). for freshman and sophmore year, i went to a highly competitive magnet school in VA (specifically fairfax county). my grades were mostly A's, but I had a few splattered B+'s. in the Fairfax County grading system,
A= 94-100
B+=90-93
B=84-90
C+=80-83
...
however, in my new school, the grading system is
A=90-100
B=80-90
C=70-80
...
when i moved here (sophmore summer), the counselours in my school (not exactly the most competent)...converted all my B+, to B's, because they claimed they dont have B's here.

additionally, supposedly, as a magnet school, all my classes were considered atleast "honors" level, and my old school did not explicitly state the 'honors' next to the course unless it was "AP/post-AP". however, i did not have the oppurtunity to take too many of those "AP/post-AP" classes, and most of my classes were considered regular (as shown on my new transcript), by the counselours here.

in addition (wow...this is gettting really long), i went on a year system there, and am on a semester system right now. how would i calculate my gpa....would i double the wieghtage of all the grades i attained freshman/sophmore? for colleges...should i send two transcripts to the schools (1 of my old school, 1 of my new), or would i mention that in my personal statement? as u can see, the two grading systems are way different, and it kinda screwed me over (w/ the B+s becoming Bs and all). any advice is welcome...sry for the long post...thx!!!
