Grades at Harvard?

Aboo: It is 91%. Lee Ann Michleson, the director of pre-medical advising at Harvard's OCS, said that the other 8% are students who did not heed OCS' recommendations in terms of applying to med school; they applied to all top-tier med schools, just did not have a competitive GPA or MCAT score, or just no "clinical experience" whatsoever.

knight_miler - so long as you have half a brain and you're planning on doing at least a little work, the first year is probably going to be quite easy, to ease you into the b*tch that is the last 3 years. So long as you go to your lectures, listen to the professors etc you'll be fine I'm sure.

yes xjayz, I'm currently a freshman.

I believe there've been ten students in Harvard history who have gradtuated with a straight 4.0. This was in the same article about that girl who graduated, that someone cited upthread. Need to find it.

What is a 'straight 4.0' ?

Harvard's grading system according to the Handbook:

A = 4.00
A- = 3.67
B+ = 3.33
B = 3.00

and so on.

In my experience, it's difficult to get an A, and it's difficult to get below a B-. I know people who have failed classes, but they did by doing stuff like never attending class, skipping the final, taking a class that was obviously far too high level, etc.
