Senior year only started a month ago and it’s already stressing me out. For the most part, i’ve been a straight A student, only getting one B+ throughout all of high school. However, this year my grades are slipping, even though i’m working just as hard. It looks like i’m going to get a B+ in my AP Literature class for the semester, as well as physics honors. I know that senior year grades matter, but is going from straight As to a few B+'s enough for a college to take away my acceptance?
ya the same thing is happening to me. from what I’ve heard it depends where you’re applying but if you have all As and a B+ or two it wont kill you
Rule of thumb for most schools is that you want no D’s or F’s Senior year. A few C’s may be OK but A’s and B’s are fine.
B+ is an excellent grade for AP classes. Don’t worry so much about B’s. If you have C’s then you should start focusing harder. You’re all in good hands.
Most colleges do look at first semester grades but a couple of B+'s in difficult courses should not be a big problem. Do your best and try not to stress about it.
I think @Gumbymom rule of thumb is generally for after acceptances are in hand.
If the competition applying doesn’t have B grades, yes, it can affect you. So be realistic.
Did you mean “take away my acceptance” (already accepted) or not admit you?
Generally speaking, once a college admits you, they don’t want to rescind (take back) that admission. They normally only do so if something significant happens. A B+ in an AP class is not significant.
