Grades in Rutgers

So I wanted to know... I noticed that Rutger's GPA system doesn't have a A+, and neither does it have any of the A-, B-, C- etc etc etc. Is this nec. a bad thing? Can anyone explain to me further about the pros and cons about their (Rutgers) grading system?

it could make your gpa really high or really low

That was the most ambiguous statement I’ve ever heard, haha.

Well one pro I see is that if you get a 90 in the class as a whole, you’re still getting an A. All 90s = all As = 4.0 GPA

…but…I have found it difficult to achieve all As in my class. Heads up for anyone: don’t assume a class like introduction to communication or something along the lines of that will guarantee you an easy A. You’ll be surprise to find yourself struggling to get past that C+ that you have so far in the class =( personal experience.

As a student who always happens to get a B+ (89%), it ****es me off to no end that if i had gotten 1 point higher, my GPA would be a massive 0.5 higher.

im going to graduate rutgers with a 4.0

Good luck AMGleague. I mean, it is possible, but I’m sure you’ll come across a teacher or two that will make it hard for you to receive an A in the class.

wait Rutgers doesnt have minuses???

No minuses, just A, B+, B, C+, etc.

A = 4.0
B+ = 3.5
B = 3.0
C+ = 2.5
C = 2.0
… etc

Rutgers GPA Calculator: [Rutgers GPA CALCULATOR](http://eden.rutgers.edu/~mpaiva/gpa.html)

That’s pretty handy.

You guys are actually pretty lucky considering my school is:

A (90-100)
B (80-89)
C (70-79)
D (60-69
F (Below 60)

It’s not too bad, it just sucks if you have like an 88 in a class and it’s still counted as a B just like the person who got an 80 :/

Um, no… There is a B and a B+.
