grades policy

So I have a feeling that my school does grade deflation, since it seems like i'm earning lower grades than what i think i deserve. I transferred and at my previous school i was able to at least pass all courses, but at my current school, i'm having trouble and i don't understand why. It's not like i'm not putting the effort in because i am, but still receiving lower marks. And for a some classes that i thought i would have at least passed, i failed. and for classes that i thought i would get A's in, i got B's in. and now my graduation is pushed back because i have to retake classes. It seems much harsher and i don't understand what i'm doing wrong. i'm on probation because of it, i haven't had this much trouble before and was a good student in high school as well. Is it possible that grade deflation could be going on? when applying to grad schools could i put this as a reason for lower gpa? i really don't think it's fair that i'm getting lower grades than i think i deserve.

Look up some statistics on your classes, see what the grade distributions look like. Assuming you transferred into a more prestigious or challenging school, it could just be that you’re competing against smarter classmates. If there’s a curve, and only so many students can get an A, well… there’s your problem.

Alternatively, look at your syllabus. You know, that piece of paper you get at the start of a course? The one that tells you what you’re graded on? Look at your assignments, see how it all lines up.

Option 3: Talk to your professors, ask them for advice. Ask what you did wrong on assignments, how you can improve, and how you can study better. If you’re not up to their standards, figure out why. At the very least, you’ll get some brownie points for going to office hours.
