I am number 9/650-675 in my graduating class at a very competitive high school; thus, I'm in the top 1% of my class.

However, my sophomore year, I got a C+ in Algebra 2/Trig Honors (the rest of my math grades: A/A Geometry Honors, C+/B Algebra 2 honors, A/B+ Math Analysis Honors).

I'm applying to Ivy League schools. Will they see my C+ as a serious detriment to my application, or will they take into account my class rank?

Well, what's your GPA? If it's still pretty high, the C shouldn't be THAT bad. I mean, it's not exactly going to HELP you, but if the rest of your application is really strong, it shouldn't be that bad. I mean, they are the ivies, but who knows?

Well, i think those adcoms like for the application as a whole, but it may put a dent in your app. can you make it up with something really good, like a national award or something?
