Hey guys. I have been getting mid 90s for my entire high school career until this year. In my midyear report, which colleges see, I got an 86 in BC Calc, 87 in AP Statistics, and a 88 in US History. Will this severely hurt my chances for Northwestern?? Thanks

no but obviously it won't help

It won't help, certainly. Why did they dip?

They were hard classes and I caught senioritis. I am extremely concerned that these grades will screw me over in college admissions.

they probably won't "screw you over." many high school students don't even take BC Calc

the exact same thing happened to me this term. I have gotten all A's ans A-'s in high school and then this term I got a B in AP Physics and a B+ in AP Chemistry. Last term I pulled an A- in each of these classes. I have been extremely busy lately. Hopefully, this doesn't hurt us too much.

i wouldn't stress too much about it too much, but who am i to say?

but as a word of advice, you might wanna get used to the idea of getting Bs and B+s because you'll be crushed when you get your first B+ at northwestern, especially when you know you made an A effort. if only i had been broken into it earlier in life.

I have to agree with gd016. coming to NU with a 4.00 HS gpa it was a real shock to see the first quarter grades. a lot of classes give you back whatever you put in (in terms of grades) but sometimes they're just too hard and an A effort ends up as a B, as gd016 said.

In other words, don't take Japaneses :)

日本語のクラスはとてもむずかし。

I've always heard people say that languages in college are supposed to be easy O.O" Gack. I guess I got all my facts wrong x)

Languages are, mostly, not terrible. Japanese, however, is brutal here. Chinese is hard but manageable.
