Grades senior year?! Please help.

Hey everyone.

I am ecstatic about going to Yale next year, but I keep finding things to worry about (I’m driving myself crazy).

So here is the latest one:
I have had straight A’s through high school, but now some are becoming A- and B. I have 3 A’s. 2 A-'s and a B. Sooooo. Assuming that’s as low as they go, could I be admonished/rescinded for this?

Thanks for your thoughts.

I would keep trying to do your absolute best. That said, see: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/yale-university/1742806-i-got-a-warning-email-and-am-freaking-out-how-common-is-this.html#latest

Yah. I’ll definitely try my best. I checked out the link. I didn’t get an email or anything, since my mid year was all A’s. But do you think I’d get cut?

For one B, I think a warning would be more appropriate, but I suspect it’s handled on a case-by-case basis

dogs: you’re nuts. To think that Yale would withdraw your offer due to one B? You’ve really let paranoia overcome any sense of perspective. You’re fine. If you spend another second worrying about this, you should dope slap yourself.

*Because you’re basically saying that every admitted student must pull a 4.0 for their final semester or Yale dumps them. This better not be an example of your analysis skills!

*Please go enjoy the rest of your senior year. You deserve it after working so hard. Please chill – if you remain like this, you’ll stick out like a sore thumb in New Haven.

My son got a couple B’s his last semester… I actually recommended that he take it a little easy.

@ElMimino‌. And Yale was fine with it? No questions asked?

Nothing… I’m actually surprised to hear that this is even a topic of discussion!

Dogs: Based on your revisits to this post, you truly are prone to believe this statement, aren’t you?

" every admitted student must pull a 4.0 for their final semester or Yale dumps them"

I was soft-blunt with you before. I’ll drop that. If you believe for a second this statement, then you’ve exchanged rationality for stupidity.

Yes, please do so. How much more reassurance do you need? Enjoy your acceptance. Many Yale students did not have 4.0s, and many don’t have them while at Yale.

Thanks all. Time to chill. Quite the change from the past 3.5 years. Lol

Enjoy! Look forward to the most amazing university that I have ever visited.

It’s hard to know the exact cutoff, but as long as your transcript grades are B- and higher, there will not be a problem.

You are fine - you are fine - you are fine!!! You keep hearing this from the parents who actually have kids at Yale. I’m not sure my D even knew what her final grades were before her counselor sent them off. You are in. I know from experience that you all have been so grade focused for so long that you don’t know any other speed. But, please enjoy your last few months of high school. Go to prom. Hang out with friends. Watch Walking Dead on tv. Word to the wise. Enjoy these months cause the grind will start again in earnest in September and you will wish you had these few months of relative ease back.

Welcome to the Yale family. Boola!! Boola!!

I actually started watching walking dead after reading ur post. Thanks.

But it was too scary so I now stopped. Lol

Well, season 3 of house of cards is on Netflix.
