<p>I hope this is never an issue but if you are allowed to retake classes where you get a grade that is lower than a C, wouldn't be better for your GPA to just fail the class and retake it rather than get a C. </p>

<p>What looks better on your transcript for grad school or transfer purposes an A even though it shows the A as a second attempt or a C but the class has only been taken once.</p>

<p>Yes, it would be better, but at most colleges the deadline for dropping classes is well before you take your final exam. It would probs look better too, because people drop classes for all sorts of reasons, not just because they’re failing them.</p>
