I was just wondering how important are grades in grade nine, or freshman year. I go to school in Canada, where highschool is from grades 8-12. My grade 8 marks are very high while my grades this year are not up to the standards from last year. I really want to go to an ivy league and I'm scared that this downtrend is bad.

QUESTIONS:

Do ivy leagues look at your grade 9 marks?

What marks count as "very good"? Is it an "A" or a 95% and over?

Thank you so much guys!!

1) Depends on which one, for example Harvard and Yale look at your year 9-12 grades, while Princeton looks at only your 10-12 grades.

2) They look at your school’s context.

Also depends what you took. For example, if you take AP Stats as a freshman I think colleges will look at it on your school transcript.

Thank you so much!! So would I being sending transcripts depending on the grade range or just send all my grades from 8-12 but the university will just be looking at the specified grades?

8th grade is not considered at all so you won’t be able to include them.
