Hi there :). I have a question about school-transcripts. So, case is that I am an international student from Kazakhstan, and in my country high-school was from 10-11 grades. I have all this documents right now, but I wondering, do I need sharing grades from 9th grade? This is middle-school, thats why I am little bit confusing.

Yes you need your 9th grade transcripts, and if some classes from your 8th grade would count as high school in the Us (algebra, geometry, second foreign language) you need to include that transcript too.

Most American colleges want grades from the last 4 years of your secondary education. If high school ends after 12th grade (like in the US), that would be grades 9 through 12. If high school ends after 11th grade for you, I would go back to 8th grade.

Some colleges will be okay with the most recent 3 years of your education (going back to 9th grade for you).

If you had a set of exams at the end of middle school (like O-levels in the British system), colleges will want to see the results from those as well.

O, too many transcripts :). So, I need to ask my counselor to create another 2 space for 8-9 grade from school for common application. But how admission will know? I mean, she ( counselor) told me, that in common app she founded Current or most recent transcript and Additional. So, in current need download grades from 11 grades? And then in another 3 Additional she should download grades from 8-10>?

Thanks a lot! Confusing about, because my english-teachers don’t know really how its works. Always need looking for information on forums or in common app help desk ;D

I don’t know what the current Common App form for counselors look like, but in previous versions you could have all grades in a single transcript, even if the grades came from different schools. I also found this in the Applicant FAQ section of a university:

Hi again :). I just finished with my grades, and I have another question. How to save transcripts? I mean first page - original, second page -translation, or I should put translation first? Or it doesn’t matter :D?

I used to think that we obliged to send transcripts to the institutions by regular mail; now it seems that CommonApp is appropriate for that too… Should we scan the paper version of the transcript and upload it to ConnonApp or does it work in another way? Or I misunderstood something?
