What year do colleges look at to check on your secondary schooling grades? Do they look at all four years (which i dnt think is probable) or do they look at junior year and/or senior year?

Second semester of senior year is all that really matters.

what grades do they look at? in general 10-12 :D that was an easy question.

^^ what GreenDayFan said. But i'd say mostly junior year, i always hear that its the most important year.

Since they accept you during your senior year, they look mostly at junior year. Which was a good thing for me--I had some incredible teachers and worked really hard that year, getting straight A's. That carried over to the first nine weeks of my senior year but I tanked fourth nine weeks due to a horrible case of senioritis.

Also, as far as grades go, they look at final grades with sophomore and junior years. If you get a C one nine weeks it doesn't matter as long as you get an A or B for the course.

With freshman year, they mostly look for requirements to my knowledge. For example, I took my language in 8th and 9th grade, meaning they would only look at German on the ninth grade part of my transcript. They saw the B so I was okay there. I don't think they really cared about, say, English or Geography or Algebra I (which were all A's for me); Bio may have been looked at though (which unfortunatley I got a B in).

I think they'd look at all 4 years.

I mean, why would middle school teachers put so much emphasis on you needing to get serious in high school just so you could slack off another year?

They don't really look at your freshman grades. They realize that you're still transitioning in freshman year and they understand that you may not have done your best.

Colleges look at your transcript right?

And your transcript shows all the years you earned high school credit, the classes you took, and the grades you got. I started earning high school credit in 7th grade, and my transcript shows the high school classes I took from 7th grade onward. So, they should see that I took Spanish 1, Spanish 2, Algebra 1, and Geometry in my middle school years because I got high school credit for them.

11th grade would probably be the most important year.

thx you guys ^^

i've been in a depressed mood and drained from all the IB work and deadlines and responsibilities...but i guess i gotta kick it up a notch, IB or not i think i gotta do better...

do you guys who think it's 11th grade, think its all of that year or the last semester or which ever?

they see your transcript, but i know a lot(most?) schools recalculate your gpa not including freshman year, so yeah we're not making this up, freshman year really isn't too important.

usualy 10-11th for admission, and most will check your 12th grade grades to see you're going okay and not slacking.

if u apply early sr grades dont count as much..am i right?

They do look at freshman year for trends.

I doubt senior would count too much. Chances are you've already been accepted into college.

I wonder if they separate it into grades at all (I wouldn't know, never seen a college app before). I started high school classes in middle school, so I think they'd just look at a list of classes you've taken and the grades you received in them.
