Grades?

So apparently everyone on this board has 4.0s and think that anything below a 4.0 is horrible. (Keeping in mind that a 2.0 is SUPPOSED TO BE AVERAGE) =)

What are your grades? (Not GPA) What class level are you taking? And do you spend a lot of time working for your grades or are they easy grades?

Me... I'm a B average student. All honors classes (the highest offered at this point).
Freshman year I took: Biology, English I, French II, Geometry, Latin II, and band.
Honestly... I didn't really work that hard freshman year. I had six 45 minute long study halls a week and never really used them. I gave up in my biology class and ended with a C+. (Turning in projects a week late.)
I didn't study at all. Yeah. It was a sucky year academically for me.

Sophomore year I took: Chemistry, Physics, English II, French III, Algebra II/Trigonometry, Latin III, European History, and band.
This was a suicidal schedule and I was told that I shouldn't have taken it and that I needed a study hall. My English class was MUCH harder than before and it was challenging. My only 'easy' class was history. I didn't try at all in math... but over all I worked fairly hard for my grades, and I think I would have come out with A's had I had a study hall.

I’ve gotten all A’s and 2 B’s throughout my freshman and sophomore years. Both B’s were in math classes (Geometry, Algebra II).

I took all Honors classes in freshman year and all honors + 1 AP class in sophomore year (the only AP sophomores are allowed to take at my school).

I’ve pretty much slacked off and procrastinated these 2 years, I have really bad study habits. The only reason I’ve gotten A’s is because I do a lot at the end of the quarters to raise my grades. Some honors classes have been jokes, some have been okay, and some have been a bit harder. My AP class was…okay, not too hard.

Since I’m only going to be a soph next year

Freshman: All honors- All 95%+
( Biology Honors, Algebra 2/ Trig, English Honors, Engineering Drawing, French 1, English Honors, American History 2 Honors, PE, Health, Computer Applications)

I’ve had

4 A- (Honors Chemistry, Honors Trigonometry, Calculus, AP Environmental Science)
2 B+ (Honors Precalculus, AP US History)

The rest were As. I have a 3.84 unweighted, cumulative.

I’m sure I had a D in honors history freshman year…

I’ve had a few C’s, and plenty of B’s.

This year, so far, I have 4 A’s as final grades. I am waiting for the other 3 to come out. I think I may have gotten six A’s and one B+ for final grades. =)

I haven’t had much rigor over the past three years either. I’ve done a few honors in history, science, and electives. Next year, however, I will only be in one or two regular classes.

My GPA sucks. I do have a strong upward trend though.

I almost always have 6 A’s and 1 B, but sometimes there are slight variations. I’ve had 2 B’s once, and all A’s twice, so it works out to having one extra A once.

9th grade: Honors English 9 (A’s both sem), Honors Latin III (A’s both sem), Honors Modern History (A’s both sem), Biology AA (A’s both sem), Algebra II AA (A 1st sem, B 2nd sem), Orchestra (A’s both sem), Gym/Study Hall (A in gym, no grade for Study Hall)
All of it was easy except math.

10th grade: English 10 AA (A’s both sem), APUSH (A’s both sem), French 1 AA (A’s both sem), Chemistry AA (B 1st sem, A 2nd sem), Pre-Calculus AA (B’s both sem), Gym/Health (A’s both sem), Orchestra (A’s both sem)
Chemistry was hard 1st semester. Math was hard both semesters. All else was pretty easy, even though I bombed so many tests and read so badly that I don’t know how I got A’s in APUSH.

11th grade: AP English Lang (A’s both sem), AP Calculus BC (B 1st sem, A 2nd sem), AP Art History (A’s both sem), AP Human Geography (A’s both sem), French 2/3 AA (A’s both sem), Time to Speak/Study Hall (A in gym, no grade for Study Hall), Orchestra (A’s both sem)
Everything was easy except math, as always.

My GPA is pretty good. If I can get it up like .004, I will have a 3.85, which I can “round” to a 3.9.

9th grade
Algebra (first semester): B- (ugh)
Algebra (second semester): A-
English: B+
History: A-

AP Biology: C+
Advanced Algebra/trig: prediction A
Honors American Literature: prediction B/B+
AP Biology Exam prep: C
US History 2: prediction A-

Eh, I’m a mediocre student nothing too special. There are far more brilliant/impressive students I know. GPA: 3.6 I believe

I have never taken a study hall, or free period, they are a waste of time in the first two years of high school. Also my school does not do A-, A+ kinda grades.

Freshmen-
English Honors: A
Earth Science (mandatory): A
Government/ Geography: A/A
Geometry Honors: A
Band: A
Spanish I: A
Photo 1/ photo 2: A

Soph:
English American Studies Honors: A
Chemistry: A
Biology: A
History American Studies honors: A
Algerbra II honors: A
Precalculus honors: A (self studied with the final at the end, got credit)
Band: A
Spanish II: A

So yeah, I have a 4.0… but next year I am taking 4 AP classes: Physics, History, English, and Calc, I am sure my unweighted GPA will go down, but weighted will go up.
Also… schools have different difficulty levels for the classes. Personally this year was easy, and I was doing a sport every season and did not have a study hall. But my school might be easier to get A’s in, I am not sure. I am top of my class though, and my twin sister is 5 from the bottom of the class, out of 273… so idk.

9th
Geometry : A (medium difficulty class, had some HW, but didn’t really study)
English : A (joke class)
Biology : A (very, very easy for me)
Geography : A (joke class)
Newspaper: A (did nothing)
PE: A
Freshman year was ridiculously easy, I don’t think I had ever a cause to fear even an A- in any classes.

10th grade:
Honors Precalculus: A (First semester was easy, 2nd semester, pretty difficult for me, especially since the teacher refused to curve things. I ended up with a 93%, after studying 5 hours on my final. I had a B a few weeks ago, and was pretty convinced I would end up with a B. This was a close one, I had to study the most I ever have (several hours before each chapter test, and still got C’s on some of them)

Honors Chemistry: A (Just an ok class for me, not to hard, not to easy. I flunked the final though, cause I didn’t study)
WHAP: A (One of my easiest classes, I always did well. History is my best subject. It did have a humongous work load, but only because we had to so many notes)

English: A. (this was also stressful, the teacher doesn’t curve anything. Mediumish workload)

Spanish 3-4: A Joke class

Newspaper: A, editor so mediumish workload.

Sophomore year was definitely a lot more difficult for me, especially 2nd semester. I started having to study for things, and put effort in to get an A. It was tricky balancing all my EC’s as well. I actually had work for almost every class. I’m mad though, our school doesn’t have any study periods.
I’m anticpating Junior year will be pretty difficult to get straight A’s, what with 4 AP classes.

(In my school, AP > Advanced > Honors > Standard, and for the most part, only juniors and seniors can take AP’s)

9th
Geometry Adv.: A- (Pretty challenging, but a chillax teacher)
English Adv.: A- (Really easy class)
Bio Adv.: B+ (Hardest class, so close to a A- (89.25))
History Adv.: A- (Pretty easy/joke)
Spanish Adv.: A- (Challenging, but for the most part easy)
Latin Honors: A+ (Very easy)

Algebra 2 Adv.: B (Very challenging class/teacher, hard to adjust to at first, but afterwards it was ok)
English Adv.: A/A- (Pretty challenging, but not too bad)
Chem Adv.: A-/B+ (This teacher was cruel/crazy and I am glad for the class to be over)
History Adv.: A+ (Joke class)
Latin 2 Honors.: A+ (Very easy)
C++ Honors.: A (Very easy class)

Sophmore year was definitely more difficult, but I have a feeling junior year may almost be easier, not sure, even with this schedule:

Hmmm…

Sophmore year I pretty much had a 4.0 that was with

Geometry A+

English A+

world history A+

PE A+

General Buisness A+

I have an A- in every class with out studying I don’t know why but I do
Classes:
Honors Geometry
Invent It a tech course

Honors English
Art Hated it required for me to graduate
Honors Chemistry
Electric
AP US History
PE
Thats just junior year Ive cut down on amount of classes because as of now I can graduate needed 22 credits im working on 25

I’m an A student (3.965), and I’ve taken 9 AP Classes to this day, and have 5 more next year. I’m really too lazy to list them.
People think I’m really dumb though. I make a lot of obnoxious remarks/comments in class, most of my teachers hate me, I get kicked out of class for talking 3-4 times a week, and I’m really loud. Anddd I laugh at everything.

My semesters greatly differ in GPA. I went from 3.7 —> 3.9 —> 3.6 —> 3.2 —> 3.8 —> 4.0.

I’m generally a lazy, poor student. But I get lucky sometimes.

is there something in your shampoo?

i’ve a 4.0, i do barely enough to get A’s.

I got B- in AP Calc BC this year ( I think I am the worst student my maths teacher ever had in AP Calc BC, feel so bad) and B in AP Physics C.

Other than that, I got A+ in Spanish I, A in Bio,English,Chorus, and Band.

Thus, my average is about 3.7, kinda low for college application next year. Don’t you guys think so ?
