Hello everyone, I’ve got an interesting issue that I need some insight on. My school uses an online grading system that all the students have access to (individual accounts). When checking my online report card, I spot something interesting. Right above my grades is stated my adjusted GPA. Now I’m not actually sure if adjusted GPA and weighted GPA are the same thing or different. But the strange thing to me is that my adjusted GPA is much lower than my actual (unweighted) average. I don’t take any honors or AP classes and all my classes are a full credit each, so a weighted GPA to me is useless. But here are my grades.
Algebra II - 96
Chemistry - 90
English - 92
Constitutional Law - 92
Physical Education - 97
U.S. History - 85
Religion - 91
And the number I found the most interesting is my adjusted GPA, which is 85.30%. I truly have no clue where this number is coming from. The unweighted is about 91.8%. I don’t know if I’ve just missed some information about what an adjusted GPA is, or I’m getting robbed of about 6 and a half points out of my GPA. Any information is helpful lol. Should I speak with the staff or is it unimportant?
Is that number your cumulative GPA?
You don’t list your grades from Freshman and Sophomore year. If you factor them in, do you have your answer?
No, I’ve never had below an 89 average, so this number is still odd.
