Does anyone know what the grading scale at IU is like, as far as matching percentages and grades go? Like is there an universal scale for all classes?

Professors’ grading at IU are all over the map. That is why you need the grade distribution to help selecting the classes. In general, it is not too bad. Some large classes have many different sessions. In this case, the instructors in various sessions may try to follow the same criteria probably set by the presiding professor.

[Grade Distribution Database: Office of the Registrar: Indiana University Bloomington](http://gradedistribution.registrar.indiana.edu/gradedist.php?dept=BUS&subject=&crse=205&clsnbr=&instrname=&report_selection=gradedist&search_process=go)

So you mean that there is no fixed scale like “93-96% = A, 90-93% = A …” and that it’s up to the professor?

Yep, that’s how it works.
