Grading Scales and Weighted GPAs

I go to a school that is pretty damn difficult for public schools, one of the best in the nation I think. The grading scale is a little different though as you need a 94 to get an A and an 84 to get a B. My first question is do colleges take this into consideration? Also, I have a friend whose school gives 1.0 added to your GPA for AP classes and 0.5 for Honors classes. My school is so that 0.5 is given for AP classes and nothing extra is given for Honors. Do colleges take this into consideration as well? His GPA looks way better than my own. I heard that most colleges look at unweighted grades anyways, but I'm not sure. I would appreciate any help to these questions I've had for a long while.

You will be looked at in the context of only your school.

thank you very much
