What kind of grading system is used at harvard. Im specifically interested in the science courses. Do they use a normalized bell curve system or a quota system or another type of system? Also what are the known weed out courses for pre med students? Thanks

There is no standardized grading system at Harvard; each professor can grade however he or she wants. Very few courses have normalized curves and as far as I know there are no courses with strict quotas, although I have heard anecdotes about TAs being asked by the professor to lower the grades they are giving out.

The introductory organic chemistry courses could be considered pre-med weed-outs, as they are at just about every other school.

what are these premed weed-outs that you speak of?

Pre-Med weed out is Org Chem, regular Chem and Physics. If someone can't pass Intro Bio then they should never apply to med school because that is not really a weed out course.

I'm glad I already took chem and physics and into ochem
