How is the grading system like at UCB? Is it based on pluses and minuses? Is a B- and a B+ worth the same?

B- = 2.8
B+ = 3.3

Is it by quarters or semesters?

quarters (10 char)

berkeley is by the semester system. O_o

Erm, which one is it?

so save me is right.

Gah, I may have to drop kick a few people now. Semester system is more difficult.

sry i thought i was on the LA forum. but yes berk is on semesters

really? i thought quarter system is more difficult.. cuz everything goes by so fast?

What about the difference between an A-, A, and A+?

A- is 3.7, A is 4.0, A+ is 4.3?
I'm not sure about the A+

quarter system goes by faster so each test or whatever counts more in a way, but if you don't like a class then you get out of it quicker? i guess finals would be harder on a semester system cause there's more material covered.

So, on average, how many people get A's in a GE class?

I'm pretty sure A+ is only 4.0

an A+ is a 4.0

Within Berkeley, they don't do anything for you, numbers-wise. For law schools, an A+ is a 4.3. I'm not sure how medical schools use it. Graduate schools probably like to see 'em in your subject area, but they are probably so minor that they're only slightly more important than what you ate the day you sent in your application.

Berkeley is on the semester system. Whether or not it is harder depends on the student.
